Update 12 May
Just to update you we are awaiting further information from our government as to the clarification on Night Fishing, as it stands at present following Government Guidelines you cannot go night fishing and comply with these Guidelines as they are.
You will see from the following, the Angling Trust are seeking clarification and once we have this clarification we will publish your Clubs plans for re-opening our Complex. We ask you to be a little more patient, as you can see this matter is out of our hands.
As of this morning (May 12) there’s nothing in the published government documents that prohibits night fishing as opposed to visiting holiday homes or campsites as set out in section one of the guidance.
However, following the Prime Minister’s statement yesterday we have been informed that further guidance will be issued tomorrow which will require people to return to their home every night. This would technically preclude anglers from fishing overnight.
The Angling Trust advice has always been to travel to fish in accordance with government guidelines and this remains the same.
However, we do not believe that the government ever intended to place limits on the ability of anglers, or anyone else, to practise their sport at night and so we are seeking urgent clarification on this matter.
Angling was added to the list of permitted activities on the basis of the proposals set out in the Angling Trust’s ‘When We Fish Again’ report and we did not see night fishing as a problem.
In the meantime, we can only reiterate the need to follow the published government guidance as far as it affects our sport. We will publish further updates when we know more.

Thank you. Take Great Care.

Hello there, We are waiting for some sort of decision on, if and when we will be able to get back on the bank!
Rest assured as soon as we get the all clear you will be immediately advised with, if any, official guidelines.
The Angling Trust are on the case and lobbying our Government for some Guidance. Until then we will have to be patient I'm afraid.
There are many of you interested in the flooding of Tolpits. For the next week or so there will be a team of EA personnel working on the downed trees in the River Gade. I can tell you that on removing one of these trees the levels dropped on Tolpits by about 4 inches, so fingers crossed these trees are the main problem and once removed the levels will keep improving the more work that is carried out.
You will have noticed in the latest Dropper that the water dropping is only the beginning as there will be a great deal of work to be carried out on repairing the Banks. Once we are allowed back on the Bank we will be arranging special work parties to help with these repairs and your help will speed up this work. That's all in the future.
Until then, Take Great Care of yourselves and your families and friends.
