Looks like the warmer weather is on its way out and we will be reverting to more typical October temperatures. Remember, forecasts change frequently. Always check the local weather outlook before any planned fishing sessions so you are well prepared.

MATCH NEWS:

* Friday 13th to Sunday 15th October - Tolpits - Carp Match 4 - 15:00 Friday - 10:00 Sunday. Please pack up and leave the lake by mid-day Friday 13th October. You can return to fish Sunday after the match has completed. Do not walk the lake until those who have taken part in the match have packed up and left their swims.

Please could anyone who can't make the 48 hour match on Tolpits please let me know ASAP as there are people on the waiting list who really want to fish and at present swim uptake is full, so it should be a great match. I am also fishing in the match so should be fun! Please all meet up in the main car park at 2pm, (14:00), on Friday the 13th October for the draw. I know some off you will be at work and won't be able to get down till after this time so if you text me your name I will draw a swim for you and you can join us a few hours later.

RULES: The match will be drawn at 2 pm, (14:00), and you will draw a number which will be your swim for the weekend, YOU CAN NOT MOVE SWIMS ONCE YOU HAVE DRAWN YOUR NUMBER. Once in your swim you can set up and bait up but, NOT start fishing. The Match will start on my whistle at approx 4pm, (16:00). You must get somone to witness the weight of your catch ,then message me your name plus the weight off every capture. The Match will finish at 10am, (10:00), on Sunday on my whistle.  

There will be a presentation after the Match for Dave Pateman, Winner of the Tolpits Match back in May, Tony Rickard, Winner of the Thurlows Match in July, Aleksandar, Winner of the Thurlows Match in September and for the Winner of the Tolpits upcoming Match.

CASTLES LAKE:

There will be some work on the lake margins Saturday 14th October in the morning. Please obey the any signs to ensure health and safety as work is carried out.

Please note as per Rule: 13.1 Day Tickets only are available at £10. Day tickets, 24 hour and 48 hour Tickets are available, from the 1st November - 14th March inclusive Each season. See Rule 13 to 13.3 in your Rule Book for full details.

Free coaching sessions for Existing Youth / Family members.

All aspects of angling – general coarse to specimen carp.

Watford Piscators is offering free coaching sessions for existing Youth Members and Family Members who would like to brush up on a particular technique or introduce their children or family to the sport.

We have a number of Angling Trust Certified Coaches at the Club who can provide instruction in all aspects of Angling from basic pleasure fishing (River or Stillwater) to Specimen Carp Angling. With a river stretch and four lakes - one with a purpose-built coaching platform and several disabled access fishing areas.

If a family member is completely new to fishing or if you want to learn more about a specific aspect of Angling, then let us know and we will tailor a session to your requirements.
