WEATHER:

Outlook suggests gusty winds this week but, potentially warmer. Remember, forecasts change frequently. Always check the local weather outlook before any planned fishing sessions so you are well prepared.

OUTLOOK:

Thursday, 15°/11°, light rain, Friday, 16°/12°, light rain, Saturday, 18°/11°, gusty winds and drizzle, Sunday, 15°/8°, gusty winds and cloudy, Monday, 17°/9°, light rain, Tuesday, 13°/6°, showers, Wednesday, 13°/10°, light rain.

CATCH REPORT MARCH 2024:

TOLPITS:

Despite the very wet conditions there have been three Carp over 30lb. Two of our named Carp including: One Eyed Common at 34lb and Oscars Fully at 32lb 10oz. Several other Carp in the upper doubles have also been out. Many Bream up to 7lb. Also a couple of Tench up to 8lb. Perch, Roach, Rudd and plenty other silvers.

STANLEYS:

Fishing extremely well as always with many good catches of Carp coming out up to 23lb. Many Bream to 5lb, some Perch and plenty other silvers.

THURLOWS:

Fishing very steady throughout the month with few Carp up to 26lb. Lots of Bream up to 6lb, many Perch caught on worms and maggots and plenty of other silver fish also caught.

CASTLES:

You are always guaranteed to get a bend on the rod. Several Carp up to 13lb 8oz. Lots of Skimmers, Perch, Gudgeon, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Tench and some Crucian Carp.

One member caught 29 Carp on a day session.

RIVER:  

Closed 15th March to 16th June

MATCH NEWS:

* Sunday 7th April - Stanleys Pool - Bomb and Feeder only - 08:00 - 14:30. Please Leave the lake by midnight Saturday 6th April. You can return to fish Sunday after the match has completed. For Safety reasons do not walk the lake until those who have taken part in the match have packed up and left their swims.

* Tuesday 9th April - Castles Lake - Venue Hire. Please Leave the lake by midnight Monday 8th April. You can return to fish Tuesday after the match has completed. For Safety reasons do not walk the lake until those who have taken part in the match have packed up and left their swims.

* Friday 12th April to Sunday 14th April - Tolpits Lake - 10:00 Friday until 14:30 Sunday. Please the lake by midnight Thursday 11th April. You can return to fish Sunday after the match has completed. For Safety do not walk the lake until those who have taken part in the match have packed up and left their swims.

At present all swims are taken, however if you are still interested, contact Brim, 07342 655627, who will contact you should there be any drop outs!

NOTE: YOU don't have to be a regular match fisher to take part, you can choose one or as many matches as you want to take part in. Who knows you might enjoy the experience and become a regular Match Fisher! Why not give it a try!

WORK PARTY DATES:

There are jobs to suit all and Your help will make Our Complex even better. So if you can make even one of these dates please do. Many hands make light work!

Sign in at the Containers for work allocation and for Safety be sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear, bring along a pair of work gloves to protect your hands. Tools will be supplied. Any tools will be signed out to you and ticked off upon return.

Renewals are now open for the 24/25 season please see the Complex renewal dates below.

Please remember that we do need your old membership card back as we are still missing some photos of members and if you still wish to fish our complex while your membership is being processed before the 1st May 2024 then please take pictures of the front and back of the membership card as the bailiffs will except this for the month of April ONLY, Bailiffs will be notified of this process while renewals are ongoing.

GUEST PERMITS:

Guest Permits, as well as from Harefield Tackle, Guest Permits can be purchased from Your Water Management Chairman, Ron Westwood, Mobile: 07445 975001. Please note as per Rule: 13.1 Day Tickets only are available at £10. Day tickets, 24 hour and 48 hour Tickets are available, from the 1st November - 14th March inclusive Each season. See Rule 13 to 13.3 in your Rule Book for full details.

FISHING LICENCE:

Please check your fishing licence is upto date. The EA visit Our Complex at various times through the year to check licences. You risk having your gear confiscated and a heavy fine should you not have a suitable Licence.

TYPES OF LICENCES AND ROD LIMITS:

Trout, coarse fish and eel licence

This lets you fish non-migratory trout and all freshwater fish.

You must use your licence in one of the following ways. You can choose to fish with:

* 1 rod for non-migratory trout in rivers, streams, drains and canals.

* up to 2 rods for non-migratory trout in reservoirs, lakes and ponds.

* up to 2 rods for freshwater fish in rivers, streams, drains, canals, lakes and ponds.

* You can also buy a 12-month licence that lets you use 3 rods for freshwater fish.

Please check that the place where you intend to fish does not have additional rules about how many rods you can use there.
